New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez and his wife, Cynthia, divorced in September 2008 a few months after she filed, alleging that he was a serial cheater. Reports surfaced that his relationship with pop star Madonna was one reason for the divorce, though he has denied they are more than friends.

Cynthia Rodriguez, 35, asked for the couple's $12 million waterfront estate in Florida and "equitable distribution" of all assets acquired during the marriage. Rodriguez is baseball's highest-paid player, having signed a 10-year, $275 million deal with the Yankees in the off-season.

The couple, who have two children, married in 2002.
