It's summer. Time for picnics, family vacations, and spending time with the kids. This year Wales has something else to add to the list: divorce.
Usually divorces taper off in the beginning of summer, as kids come out of school, and families plan trips. Then, after the summer is over, divorce lawyers see a spike in business.
This year, Wales' family attorneys didn't experience the summer drop off. In fact, some offices saw business double. They're blaming the credit crunch for turning couples sour.
The housing market isn't any better there than it is here. Wales also is seeing couples stay in the same home until they can sell it. This creates more friction. It's going to be a long hot summer.
