Family Therapy After Divorce, Has Anyone Gone?

A friend has started family therapy with her ex and their children because her children hate being at his house and tell her terrible stories about what goes on there. She also has a very contentious relationship with her ex, so talking with him about it has not worked. Has anyone gone through family therapy after a divorce? Was it helpful? Did it confuse the kids or help them? Did it help with parenting issues? Can it be helpful with later custody adjustments?

You are a better woman than I, Vicki! I could not fathom having to pay to sit and listen to my ex whine about how difficult it is for him for an hour every week!
