TAXES

If the divorce wasn't final until 12/1 - how do you file your tax return?

 

Is it married filing separately?  Looked it up on the IRS site - but it confused me.

You go by what you are on the last day of the year. Since you were divorced on Dec. 1 you would file as single unless you can file as head of household.
