x asking for all alimoney and attorney fees and refusing to work even thou capable

My soon to be X is a licensed electrical contractor in 2 states (both in N.E.)- he resides in our home in N.E. while I rent in the south. we have been a couple for 16 yrs married 9+. He worked the first 8 yrs then stopped to "work" on our properties.  I could never get him to go back to a "traditional job" so for the remainder of our time together I was the breadwinner.  We have a number of properties all mortgaged to the hilt because he would not work and the economy caught up with us.  I have told him I want them all to go to forclosure I can't continue to pay the mortgages.  I can no longer work 50-70 hrs per week like I have for the last 5 yrs to support the bills -- we have been taking the equity out and taking credit card debt -- the hurricaines in the south destroyed us -- now under advise from his attorney he has quit the job he had for 6 months and will not look for new work and is coming after me for alimony and attorney fees -- we live in a community property state he has racked up $85K in credit card debt.  we have $650K in mortgage debt and I have $56K credit card/car/student loan debt .  I make about 110K per yr and he has the potential to make 95-250K per year if he works depending if he does residential - commercial - or industial wiring -- BUT he won't work -- any suggestions -- can he get alimony??? -- I can barely make rent/car/credit card payments I gave up paying the mortgages and hve told the mortgage companies to please reposes the properties --- can the courts force him back to work??
