The
Rhode Island General Assembly is looking at a bill to allow same sex divorce,
even though the state doesn't recognize same sex marriage.
Sen.
Erin Lynch introduced the bill after last years high profile case where two
lesbians were denied divorce due to the states stance on same sex
marriage. The couple was granted a
Marriage in Massachusetts, but couldn't get a divorce in Rhode Island where
they resided.
Lynch's
Bill would allow same sex couples to divorce.
She believes that same sex couples shouldn't be forced to remain
together in an unhappy marriage.
