For Love or Finance?

Divorce lawyers say that business is down. Internet dating is up. Why?  Both sides point to the recession.

Matchmakers say that business is going up because some clients feel they need extra money coming into the household.  “I've had clients joke about how they need a double-income household,” said Lisa Purdam, who works for It's Just Lunch in San Diego. Is it really a joke. Recent polls on the current recession show that most people don't see an immediate fix for the current situation.

In divorce terms, it means that couples are staying together in hopes of surviving the storm.  It's easier than trying to sell a home in the current market. That's not all couples though.  Some are still willing to take the leap.  As Lawyer Steven Bishop explains, “It's like, 'I might be going down, but I'm not going down with you.'"
