How Far Would You Go to Avoid "The Talk?"

We all have different ways of approaching the divorce talk.  Of course none of us enjoy the process of telling our significant other that they've become less significant, but if you ending a relationship, you need to find a clear and concise way of saying, "It's over."

Developer Elie Hirschfield (son of parking garage magnate Abe Hirschfield) took his family on a vacation to Sun Valley, Idaho.  While there, according to his ex wife, he "feigned diarrhea" then took a private jet back to New York and emptied their apartment.

According to Court Documentation:

Elie Hirschfeld took nearly all of the furniture, clothing, more than $30 million in artwork — including works by Childe Hassam and Willem De Kooning — from the walls of their 11-room Fifth Avenue apartment on Manhattan’s Upper East Side ... She said he also took $25,000 in cash the couple kept in an apartment safe as well as all the china, silver, furs, jewelry and clothing belonging to her and their children as well as all their toys.

It's like the Visa Commercial: Private jet home: $40,000, emptying your apartment: just over $30,000, Avoiding confrontation: priceless.
